The University of Alabama men’s basketball team ushers in the New Year Saturday afternoon when it plays host to Georgia Tech at 2 p.m. in Coleman Coliseum. Saturday’s contest will be televised live across the Southeast on Fox Sports South. The game is the final installment of the Crimson Tide’s eight-game homestand that began on December 2. It is also the first of back-to-back games against Atlantic Coast Conference competition as the team faces Clemson on January 6.

The University of Alabama men’s basketball team won its fourth straight game Tuesday night, cruising past Quincy 86-58 at Coleman Coliseum. The Crimson Tide jumped on the Hawks with a 13-0 run to start the second half that pushed the lead to 48-29 and blew the game open.

The Alabama basketball team (8-3) continues its 8-game homestand on Tuesday, December 30 when it hosts Quincy University in the final game of the 2008 portion of its schedule. The first-ever meeting between the two programs tips off at 7 p.m. CT in Coleman Coliseum. Alabama plays its second game in three days after defeating Yale, 66-63, on Sunday evening and has won seven of its last eight games coming into Tuesday’s game. Meanwhile, Quincy is 6-2 on the season and brings three-straight wins into Coleman Coliseum. The Hawks have had 10 days off to celebrate the Christmas holiday and prepare for Alabama having last played on December 20 when they avenged an earlier loss to Truman State with a 79-56 victory in Quincy, IL.

The University of Alabama men’s basketball team improved to 8-3 on the season with a 66-63 victory over Yale (2-7) at Coleman Coliseum Sunday night. The Crimson Tide defense held the Bulldogs to 36 percent shooting from the field while Alabama made 42 percent of its field goal attempts. Yale got within one point in the final minute of the game but never took the lead thanks to clutch free throw shooting from the Crimson Tide down the stretch. Alabama made 7-8 free throws in the final 30 seconds including two by sophomore Senario Hillman with three seconds left to seal the victory.

The Alabama men’s basketball team (7-3) continues its month-long home stand with a Sunday night contest against the Yale Bulldogs (2-6). The two teams will meet on December 28 at 6:00 p.m. Central Time at Coleman Coliseum. The Crimson Tide is coming off an 82-63 victory over Chattanooga while the Bulldogs will be playing for the first time since a December 10 defeat at Boston University by a score of 55-43. Yale’s two victories thus far this season came on the road at Oregon State (53-52 on November 24) and at home versus Holy Cross (76-66 on Dec. 3).
