The Alabama Crimson Tide basketball team defeated the Montevallo Falcons 81-72 at Coleman Coliseum Saturday evening in an exhibition game. The Falcons, playing the Tide for the first time, were able to stay within striking distance for most of the game but eventually gave way to Alabama’s stingy defense.

First of all, it's good for us to have an extra day. Our team needs a little bit of rest. We’ll have some good practices for the rest of the week, but I think it’s important for us to get our legs back underneath us. I do think our guys will be excited about going to Nashville. It will be a great tournament, I think with a lot of even teams, especially at the top of both divisions. You’ve got a number of teams who feel like they have a chance to win the tournament so it should be a wide open field and a lot of fun.”
